Cycling in Northumberland

Bike riding is a great activity for health reasons and for enjoyment. However, if you live in one of England’s many cities, chances are you do not get to experience the joys of riding outdoors too often. For you, the gym might be your only option. The stationary bike is a great way to stay physically fit, however it is not that enjoyable when you could be outside. You might need to plan a trip to Northumberland. They have some amazing areas for cycling.
Northumberland is famous for its amazing beaches. People travel to the area to relax on the beach and enjoy the wonderful scenery. And, while they are there, many people love to ride bikes. It makes perfect sense really. The area has miles and miles of coastline and countryside that you can cycle through. The scenery you will ride through is unbelievable and not to be missed.
If you are an avid biker and like more of a challenge, you can always take up the mountain biking challenge. Many people mountain bike in Northumberland and there are several trails. These are obviously the most difficult of the riding that is done in the area, but they can also be the most fun. If you are up for the challenge, look into routes in Haltwhistle, Bellingham, and Wooler.
Obviously one of the greatest parts about cycling in Northumberland is the scenery. Because of this, the area has a specific route designed to lead you through the best of the best the area has to offer. It is called the Coast and Casatles cycle route. On the route you will see hot spots such as the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and the Bamburgh Castle. It is definitely a fun way to get some exercise and take in some culture at the same time.
For those who come to Northumberland with their families, cycling is also an option. The bike rides they pursue with their families may be less rigorous and less lengthy, however, they are still a fun activity and a great way to see some of the beautiful areas of Northumberland. Many of the streets are actually deserted, so they are quite safe to ride bikes on. In addition, it is not uncommon to bike past a local shop or café, so you can always make a stop if you get tired!
If exercise, beauty and relaxation is what you need, come to Northumberland for the beach and some cycling!
