Best Mexican players in La Liga

Mexico has been producing some of the most exciting players in the world for the last decade. Some of the biggest clubs in Europe have been looking to Mexico to sign fantastic young players that can offer great value in the transfer market, as well as great football on the pitch.

La Liga clubs are no different and many Mexican players are making the journey to Spain to enjoy a language and culture that is similar to their home nation, and to enjoy some top-level football in one of Europe’s biggest leagues.

Here we are going to look at three of the best Mexican players in La Liga, players that are ones to watch this season as the team fight it out to reach the top of the table and European football next year.

Hector Herrara – Athletico Madrid

Hector Herrara is a midfielder for both Athletico Madrid and the Mexican National side. After six successful years with FC Porto, including serving as the club’s captain, he made the switch to Athletico Madrid this year.

Hector has had a very successful international career, winning an Olympic gold medal at the London 2012 games, but now seeks to take his club football to the next level with Athletico.

Andrés Guardado – Real Betis Balompie

Andrés Guardado is one of the most experienced left backs playing in La Liga. He moved to Spain for the first time in 2007, signing for Deportivo La Coruna from Mexican club Atlas.

After five years and nearly 140 appearances with Deportivo, Andrés made his next move to Valencia to cover the long-term injury of Valencia left back Jeremy Mathieu. Although he impressed the Valencia fans, he made a loan move to Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 2014 and followed this with another loan to PSV Eindhoven the next season.

In 2017, he signed a three-year deal with Real Betis Balompie and quickly became a fan favorite and a mature influence on the squad. Real Betis start this season with a new-look squad and a new sponsor on their shirt, Easy Markets, and will be looking to tap into Guardado’s experience as they make a push to the top end of the table.

Nestor Araujo – Celta de Vigo

Nestor Araujo is a defender who made the journey to Spanish football by signing to Celta de Vigo in the summer of 2017.

Nestor is an experienced defender and has enjoyed success with the Mexican National Team at the London Olympic games in 2012 and the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup and is now looking for club football success with Celta de Vigo.

Celta de Vigo have got a tenacious and hungry defender that has picked up a habit of scoring important goals for his country and can hopefully find the net for Celta as they climb up the table this season.

Mexico has been producing some fantastic footballers that are now becoming some of Europe’s biggest players in some of the biggest clubs. These three Mexican players are definitely worth keeping your eye on as we start the new season.

Cool Summer Soccer Gear

Do you ever have any of these problems while playing the great game of soccer?

Your shin guards continuously slip down.  You sometimes use tape or other jerry rigs to fix this problem?

Well you need to check out the Sock Jockey™

The Sock Jockey™ keeps shin guards in place.  There is no need for messy tape to hold the shin guards up.  This is an excellent idea.  It is reusable and washable, so after sweating your butt off on the field just throw them in the washing machine with your uniform.  The Sock Jockey is very easy to adjust with Velcro closures.  Another benefit is that they also keep your socks in place.  After all you should not have to worry about shin guards and socks getting in the way of your play.

How about your head hurting after heading the soccer ball a few times?  If you have this problem then you need the Header Band.

Check out the Header Band!  The inside of the header band is lined with a silicone shock absorbing pad.  This head band not only keeps the sweat out of your eyes but also protects your head when heading the soccer ball.  The circular silicone pad is perforated to allow air flow for cooling comfort.  Just think header shots no longer have to be painful!  The Header Band absorbs most of the shock and protects the head.  One size fits all.  This head band stretches to fit comfortably.  It’s made of cotton so all you need to do is wash it in cold water and let it air dry.

How about this problem- when you kick the ball your shoe laces get in the way and the ball goes in a different direction than intended.  If you have this problem then you need Hot Spots™.

Hot Spots™ improve the surface on shoe for better ball control (no laces to get in the way).  You will experience better touch, spin, and control of the soccer ball.  Also your kick becomes more powerful.  This item is a staple item with coaches and kids.  Trust me, it really works.  Hot Spots are very elastic so it is easy to pull over your shoe.  Just slip Hot Spots over front of shoe and cover the laces it’s that easy.

So before you hit the soccer field this summer get this cool gear.  They are ingenious solutions to your problems and look good on the field as well.  For information on these items and other soccer gear go to www.morleyathletic.com.
